Friday Food Bites: Bite This By Annie headed to Clintonville, Shakers Public House and I Like It Like That open

by admin

There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

  • Bite This By Annie, the popular bakery that appears regularly at the Worthington Farmers Market, announced that they’ve signed a lease for their first brick and mortar at 3009 N. High St. in Clintonville. The space was formerly Tudie’s Cookies & Sweets (which closed last December) and was the original home of Pattycake Bakery (which moved up the street). Annie Dickson is known for her creative snacks like brownies, bar mix, stuffed Bagel Bombs, and more – she regularly sells out at the farmers market.
  • A new cocktail bar called I Like It Like That opened this week inside Natalie’s Music Hall & Kitchen in Grandview. It’s headed up by Genevieve Johnson and Lindsay Koontz, who are alums of spots like Speck Italian Eatery and Rooh.
  • BONUS: Royal Flamingo Coffee roasters, which shares a building with Natalie’s and I Like It Like That, also shared this week that they’ll be opening a coffee shop inside the cocktail bar during the day!
  • After a fire devastated its west side location last September, Shakers Public House reopened yesterday in its new home at 380 E. Wilson Bridge Rd. in Worthington. The site was formerly J&D’s Place. Get a full look inside the new Shakers Public House here!
  • The first central Ohio location of Mochi Ring opened last week at 1144 Kenny Centre Mall on the northwest side. The chain is known for their colorful mochi donuts, boba tea, and Korean corn dogs rolled in fun ingredients.
  • The owner of Fat Girl Bakery announced that she’ll be closing the bakery after Saturday, March 30, saying that business didn’t bounce back enough after her move from Lewis Center last year. The bakery is located at 6457 N. Hamilton Rd. in Westerville.
  • A second location of Qamaria Yemeni Coffee is soft opening this Saturday, March 23 at 8911 S. Old State Rd. in Lewis Center. The chain, based out of Michigan, serves Yemeni roasts in traditional preparations, as well as modern American coffee drinks and Yemeni snacks. Get a look at their Hilliard coffee shop here!
  • Another Middle Eastern cafe featuring Yemeni coffees and treats also opened last week. You can find Finjin Cafe at 4734 Cemetery Rd. in Hilliard.
  • Multiple outlets have reported that a new Brazilian steakhouse called Fogo de Chao is coming to the former O’Charley’s site at 1425 Polaris Pkwy.
  • Brunch season is upon us! If you need help, check out my list of The Best Brunches in Columbus. GoreMade Pizza is offering a specialty Easter brunch using sustainably grown local grains.

Finally, multiple Columbus businesses are nominated for some of USA Today’s 10Best awards! Help support them by voting for their daily! Click the names for their voting pages:
