There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

  • Stacked Burger Co. officially opens next Monday, Nov. 18 at 1089 Worthington Woods Blvd. in Worthington. Describing itself as a “modern burger diner,” Stacked features burgers, sandwiches, and sides like fries, onion rings, and fried Brussels sprouts. The burger spot was created by Jordan Lamatrice, who grew the business out of Alphabetical Comfort Kitchen, which used to operate a stall in the Budd Dairy Food Hall.
  • Marlow’s Cheesesteaks quietly opened its new stall in North Market Downtown this week. The Philadelphia-style sandwich shop first opened in 2022 in Gahanna before taking over the former Alphabetical spot in Budd Dairy. A full grand opening is coming soon.
  • After 41 years in business, the Raisin Rack Natural Food Market at 2545 W. Schrock Rd. in Westerville has closed. The market announced the closure last week, and remained open through noon yesterday until its stock had sold out. A Raisin Rack in Canton, Ohio remains open.
  • Johnson’s Real Ice Cream announced that it’s headed to Pickerington in 2025. The new shop, located at 192 Hill Road North in the Olde Village, marks the eighth storefront for the ice cream brand.
  • The Dispatch shared the news that chef Josh Dalton, owner of Veritas and Speck Italian Eatery, will open a third downtown restaurant called Rosalita’s in the Madison-White Haines buildings currently being renovated on North High Street, just north of Gay. It’s set to open later in 2025.
  • Masa Mexican Grill in the East Market soft opened a new concept there called Masa Salad and Fruit. The stall lets you build your own salad bowls with greens, veggies, proteins, and dressings.
  • Halwani’s Pizza & Stromboli announced it is opening a third location at 5837 Sawmill Rd., potentially soft opening in the next week. This new shop joins locations in Grandview and Hilliard.
  • This weekend, Nov. 15-17, the new owners of Buns Restaurant in Delaware celebrate its grand reopening. The events, also intended to celebrate the restaurant’s 160th anniversary, include a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
  • Ray Ray’s Reload confirmed over social media that it’s moving its food truck from the patio of The Bottle Shop to Hoof Hearted Brewing on Fifth and opening it today.
  • Following closely on the heels of the closure of its Westerville store, Fusian has also closed its Dublin branch at 7221 Sawmill Rd.
  • Dulce Vida Ice Cream Factory announced that it has a new location coming soon to 2561 S. Hamilton Rd.
  • A new Ethiopian market and coffee shop called Sheger Grocery & Coffee Shop has opened 4551 Wright Ave. on the east side. (Thanks to Selina from @columbuscoffeeshops for the tip!)
  • Next weekend is one of my favorite weekends of the year: Thanksgiving kolaches from Kolache Republic! You can pre-order the special kolaches and pick them up next week Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 23-24.
